Re: resolving banding problems

Thanks Michael. I have noted your recipe for future use.
I did use Windex to clean the square pad on which the print head sits.

A nozzle check before and after the cleaning are identical. I am now assured that this may not have been the cause of the bands I have encountered.

Make your own cleaner. As a general ink cleaner a solution use: 1 part non-foaming household ammonia (<10%), 1 part Isopropyl alcohol to 8 parts water. I use this in my "cleaning" cartridges for some older printers but it also dissolves every ink I've tried it on.

Subject: resolving banding problems

Dear list,

I am appending something I pulled out of a google search "Epson 1270
roller marks" that Mark suggested earlier. Is this a good way to go? If
so, the local computer store does not know about "Windolene". Where
does one get that?

Camden, I could not pull anything out of the Printer Software CD on the
1270 that even vaguely alludes to 'Ink Configuration'. Perhaps
Windolene may be the panacea.

Many thanks for your input.  Rajul
