Re: Gum & the commercial ?

Yes, in the first couple of decades of the 19th century there were many commercial gum and direct carbon papers, including Hochheimer, Papier Noir Gomme, Charbon Velours, Fresson, etc. The exact ingredients of these papers is not know but it is though that most contained gum along with another colloid, probably gelatin.

Has gum printing ever been commercial ?

(carbon, pt/pd & others was at some or several points part of the commercial
market, but don't think I have seen any references like that for gum .. Yes
I know, commercial can be interpreted a couple of ways, but..)

Feels like a pretty significant question 3:50 in the morning :-)
