RE: Richeson "Magic" Brush

I use DaVinci brushes since almost 3 years. Never had rust ruining my prints (but I experienced rust ruining my Pd prints *when I was using cheap Pebeo brushes*, before switching to Davinci ones)... Yes, the staples may rust - I have this in 2 of my 6 brushes - but I haven't experienced rust migrating to the bristles. I just keep water away from the ferrule - no problems at all.

Loris.

Hello Mark,

I just noticed the staple. Just don’t dip your brush to deep in the sensitizer.

O.K. this is a one cent answer but tape it before u use it! (Never used a Richeson).

Regards,

Witho

Witho,

prior to getting the Richeson 9010 (3")  brush, I tried a Da Vinci brush.  It was a nice brush for a few weeks.  Then I started having problems with my PT/PD.  What happened was the ferrule was stapled with iron staples, which began to rust immediately and there were two lines of rust running down inside the ferrule and down the bristles.  At first I didn't realize this was  the problem... so it was a costly adventure.

I also think the bristle action on the Richeson is superior.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Best Wishes,
Mark Nelson

Catherine,

Similar brushes are available in Europe under the name Da Vinci. They are made in Germany.
