I use sharpies for everything. They're right up there with duct tape. :)

I actually prefer the normal sized tip, rather than the fine one; just
make sure it's a new pen, or that it hasn't been worn down too much. 
You'd be surprised at how fine the normal sized sharpie can be (in many
cases I've found it to be finer than the "fine tip").

I like the normal tip because it's softer than the fine tip, so it acts
more like a calligraphy brush or spotting pen.  This gives me a range of
sizes depending on how hard I push.
