RE: First Tricolor Gum (on aluminum)

Thanks Christina. I decided to change the yellow -> it's too bright,
will switch to earth colors for the next print. I purchased Schmincke's
Yellow Raw Ochre (PY42/PY43) and Titanium Gold Ochre (PBr24). Will see
how these work.

CaCO3 is Calcium Carbonate (chalk, marble powder, ect. ...)

I don't know where this journey will lead me but I happen to like more
muted colors actually. This first print is too raw/crude for my taste.

Best regards,
Loris.

Loris,
For a first gum, aside from registration, it is pretty sweet! Colorful
and
funky.

What is CaCO3???

I had a student do a tricolor gum senior thesis this semester of
Guatemalan
people. I could not believe how intriguing they were. I taught her
tricolor gums, but her gums look nothing like mine. Hers look like, you

know, down in Mexico or whatnot you will see cement walls with flat
whitewashey colors, chalky sort of, almost fresco-like? Her gums all
looked
like these flat painted walls. Which, of course, was perfect for the
project. But what it illustrates (again and again) is that the
brilliance
of gum is the multiple possibilities of expression.
