Richard D’Amore noted Los Angeles based alternative methods photographer
and his wife Hallie D’Amore are dead in an apparent murder suicide that
happened last Thursday. Apparently Hallie shot Richard then herself. Richard
was a member of the Platypus Portfolio Group founded in 1984. Hallie was a
movie make up artist and was nominated for an Academy Award for Forest Gump.
Richard and Hallie were both in Santa Fe
last July for the Platypus party. Richard also spent some time here at the time
of Platypus learning to make carbon prints and had become quite successful at
it and had begun to teach others.
I am deeply saddened to lose two good friends. As is often
the case, it is beyond imagining that this could have happened.
