I thought the T.S. Eliot quote was sent as an example of *correct* use of pronouns, as of course it is.

Don Sweet has basically answered Judy's challenge.  

"Let us go"  the (understood) subject of the verb "let" is "you" 
and "us" is the direct object of "let"

"you and I" = the compound subject of the (understood) verb "go"

Not exactly alt-photo.
