Etienne and all,

It should be interesting to see the work of Marcus
Root and his evidence (which might indeed be
convincing)... Hill might have had trouble in reproducing
his own results. 

(I once produced the halochrome effect directly... without
knowingly adding any special chemicals... but was unable
to duplicate the effect and gave up after a week or so of
trying.) 

Does anyone have Phil Davis's "Photography,"
7th ed., Brown & Benchmark, Madison, Wisconsin 1995.
???

...that could check and see if the ref. Etienne mentioned
for Marcus Root is in there?

It would be sad if Hill had to resort to deception to save
face over a truth that he had told.
