clearing dichromate stain (dichromates and sausage)

Hi folks,
I've been away from the list for several days, a New Year's present to myself, but a private note yesterday gave me to believe that I should pay attention to what's going on, so I went and checked the archives. There I found that in my absence, my assertion that the belief that dichromates have been used as an ingredient in sausage has been offered (on this list) in support of the idea that dichromates are safe to eat, has been characterized as "wild hyperbole" and I've been repeatedly challenged to say WHO on the list has ever said such a thing.

Here's an example, a response to a question about the safety of dichromates. (if you go to this link, you can go from there to the post with the original question, in order to put the answer into context):

Hellena,
Back in the day AFTER Nam they used to use dichromates in sausage. So you
ate them.
Not wild hyperbole, simply a statement of fact.
