Administrative (RE: unsubscribe)

I think that is what the weekly reminder, which is not very long, is meant to be. But the recent problem seems to be that the reminder uses an older version of address which some but not all said work for them. It didn't work for me, That's why I posted another address that should work.

Also, Gord has setup/modified the system again so I can now unsubscribe people when situation needed, so I would like mention a few things:

1. I only use the unsubscribe privilege for emergency situation, like if someone setup an autoreply that is causing problem to the list.

2. I don't unsubscribe people if they send an "unsubscribe" message to the list because I don't know whether they truly want to unsubscribe or if they are just making a statement. If someone really wants to unsubscribe but encounters problem, s/he should contact me directly. Then I will unsubscribe.

3. I don't unsubscribe anyone for arguments, debates, even if heated. That I leave to the decision of Gord or decision of listminders as a whole. This is a guideline that I set for myself so that I won't use the privilige in any biased way (that is, I won't unsubscribe you even if I strongly disagree with you or have a strong argument with you because I think in an argument it is always hard to determine who is righter, wronger, who said inappropriate words, who didn't say but imply such, etc. etc.).   :-)

Subject: Re: unsubscribe

It is my present belief after seeing so many people not knowing how to un-subscribe that, issued once, say, every two weeks, Gord should put out a very simplified, just a few words, info email to all saying how to do it. I don't wish to appear to be rude, yet some times I simply wonder where curiosity takes people.
