Lithium palladium vs. "normal" palladium
There was a wonderfully informative discussion a month or two ago that
covered Ware/Malde POP, ziatype, various palladium solutions, etc.
I'm getting ready to place an order for more palladium, and I'm trying to
decide whether to stick with the "normal" palladium (ammonium-based,
right?) or try lithium-based palladium for my DOP palladium printing. I
remember a few list members mentioning that they prefer lithium palladium,
which inspired me to give it a try.
I've considered buying palladium powder, so that I can choose later which
solution (and how much of it) to make, but if I buy 12gm palladium to make
100ml solution (please correct me if my numbers are off here) it would
actually cost more than buying 100ml lithium palladium from B&S. So at
this point I'm going to have to decide on one and order it mixed.
It would be much appreciated if someone who has used both could give me an
idea of how the two solutions differ. More specifically, I'm curious
about a comparison of colors at different humidity levels, developed in
potassium oxalate.
Thanks,
