Balancing Colour Gums
I'm thinking of expanding into (tri-)colour gums. It got me thinking about
the whole white-balance or colour-balance "issue" inherent in all colour
printing/photography. What's the general consensus? Is it pretty much
impossible or is that just part of the fun and folly of doing multi-colour
gum? Are there "known" pigment combinations which have the "potential" to
work? Has anyone actually taken the time to "measured" and plot (eg. with a
GretagMacbeth print proofing system) what gamuts are possible with different
pigment combinations?
