Re: Question about Masa paper

Hi Loris,

You have a Masa convert on your hands! I liked your tree cyano on Masa a lot!

Questions: How much exposure does Masa need in minutes? Do you expose till you get the shadows to
go grey-green? What do you use for coating the emulsion? Any problem with crinkling of paper and
how do you address this? What is your experience, if any, with doing cyano on the smooth side?

Thanks a lot. Regards, Rajul

Dave, FWIW: It's sized but more absorbent than many papers (absorbent
yes, but not to the point of acting like blotting paper). It works with
Cyanotype without any additional sizing - can't speak for gum...

Regards,
Loris.

Katherine,

Is this paper the unsized and absorbent type? Did you size it before
printing or just used it unsized?

Two reasons why you might: it dries quick as a wink, and
the smooth
side is very smooth and coats nicely. It's hard to find a really
smooth surface that's also easy to coat.
A third reason to consider this paper: it's 69 cents a sheet. kt
