RE: First try gravure

Hi Mark,

I knew someone would catch that!

Yes - exposure unit w/ vacuum frame.

Your points in other posts about other transparency stock and using the sun are all well taken, Mark. But for optimal consistency and quality I'd put my time and money into OHP and a good exposure unit w/ vacuum frame.

Jon,

I'm not following your position below. You mention the contact issue, but
then say the solution is an exposure unit. Did you mean an exposure unit
with a vacuum frame? Or did you mean something different.

Hi Christina,

Thanks for the info.

Contact is the most common problem with this process. It comes
especially troublesome when one goes beyond 5x7. Patching is certainly
indicative of contact issues. When I wanted to go larger than 8x10 was
when I finally bit the bullet and found an exposure unit.

Best wishes,
Jon
