RE: Camera Work
Hi Jeremy:
Is there any thought about producing an eText?
Making the volumes searchable would be a great plus. I totally understand the
additional effort involved and will purchase each volume as it becomes available
regardless.

I thought I would go ahead and throw a commercial-ish
announcement around the alt process network in case anyone missed the previous
discussion about Camera Work.
Just to give you a more detailed
description of what I'm doing: I was able to gather a set of all 50 issues on
loan and am in the process of scanning the issues and creating a digital master
set to be uploaded to http://www.lulu.com for
reprinting. With the availability of books with high quality (well, offset)
reproductions of the illustrations
Seen here:
my main concern is the text, so the books are being printed in
b&w to keep the costs down. They will be released in volumes of ~300 pages
(which is 3-4 issues depending on individual issue length) with a cost of
$19.99/volume.
I am asking you to spend a little bit of money and invest
the time to read Stieglitz's Camera Work:
Issues 1-4

Katharine,
I
do not mean reproductions of just the illustrations, I mean a reproduction of
every single page of camera work including the ads. I am trying to get a
contact list to email out all of the particulars of what I am doing and the
timeline for the project. If you'd like to be included in this contact list
just email me off list. I should have a copy of the first 4 issues in hand in
about 3 weeks... exciting!

I
have somewhere, a very fat softcover book that is just
that: reproductions of illustrations from Camera
Work. It's in storage right now so can't look up the
publication details, but certainly in the last 10 or 15 years.
