The History of Photography List (among others) have published many accounts of early photo methods and experiments, all with serious and credible documentation, whether or not the process "succeeded".... This one -- at least from the version cited on the site -- sounds like pure (ie., unadulterated) fantasy. And since none of the comments published on the site seemed to seriously challenge the tale, I have to assume they were carefully "selected."
