Re: dying printer

Dear Helena,

I am not so sure about 'to put it down'; before doing this just join the

and ask for help; there are several very friendly people who knows a lot about Epson printers (even former Epson technical people are on this list).
They helped me out with 1290 problems.
It is worth a try, believe me.
Succes,
Henk

Dear Hellena,

If this were a beloved pet the only sensible and human thing to do would be to have it put down.

I am desperate to save my dying printer. It is an Epson 2900 with Windows 98 as the operating system. The black ink and the power light are flashing alternatively. The status monitor system comes up with an error communication message. The Epsom website has not deigned to respond. I suppose at 6 years of age, this is a senior printer. Anyone have any ideas? I believe in the kill or cure approach. Hellena
