RE: dying printer
I use HP9180. It's nice for digital negatives but it doesn't work with Ultrafine (at least IME): it's so transparent that the printer can't see it and refuses to load it + I get pizza wheel marks + it gives considerably less UV blocking than Pictorico (couldn't get paper white with pure pop pd for instance). It works wonderfully with Pictorico. (It gives me slightly more grain my old dye based 1290 though...) And finally the printer is wonderful for positive color prints on Hahnemuehle Photo Rag. (On the other hand, I haven't tried it for positive B&W prints...) Regards, Loris. Quoting Don Bryant <dsbryant@bellsouth.net>: ... I think Sandy King and Loris Medici are using HPs. Maybe they can fill us in.
