Re: BORIC ACID POWDER
For the little experiment I ran the other day with boric acid and
gum, I simply heated the water I was mixing it into and it dissolved
fine. I dissolved more powder than would be necessary to create a
saturated solution at room temperature; a little of the extra
settled out as the solution cooled, which showed me that my solution
was indeed saturated.

I have a stirring paddle, made from stainless steel, which has a

gallon plastic bucket. It takes a little time, but it goes into
solution.

Subject: BORIC POWDER
DEAR LIST,
I read a post warning that the powder was hard to get into
solution
and that one should use the crystals. Here in Barbados we can only
get
boric acid powder. Please let me know if there are ways to get the
powder
into solution; extreme stirring? Heating solution? Order of mixing?
Thanks in advance.
CHEERS!
