Scott: My first two VDB mixes were just like you describe--I filtered them and they worked fine. The next two I added the silver nitrate solution really slowly. As I got near the end the precipate started to form but disolved with stirring. As soon as the precipated stopped disolving, I stopped adding silver nitrate. That solution too worked well.
