In conjunction with our ongoing exhibition, “Time: Exhibition of Contemporary Collotype Prints,” Project Basho is hosting an accompanying lecture on collotype by James Hajicek. The lecture which is open to public will be held on April 11th at 6:45 pm at Project Basho Gallery.
James Hajicek is a professor at The School of Art at Arizona State University. His area of interest is late 19th century photographic printing processes. He leads the 19th-century photo processes program, teaches classes in photogravure and collotype, and has extensively researched both collotype and woodburytype printing processes.

For this traveling exhibition in the US, Benrido has created a one-of-a-kind, beautifully hand-crafted, limited edition portfolio which consists of sixteen collotype prints from eight prominent fine art photographers. An accompanying essay by James Enyeart, the former Director of George Eastman House is also included. At the lecture, this portfolio as well as other collotype portfolios that Benrido has created will be on display.
