Re: alt process at the university level

Hello there,

I myself am not aware of extensive alternative process teaching at University level in Europe. Most of us teach 1 or 2 day workshops in art schools, and adult post educational facilities, but no specialised practical teaching programm spanning the field of historic photographic processes.

Atelier pH7 as an experimental art gallery is, since 1998, entirely devoted to historic and alternative processes established in Brussels, Belgium. We regularly show work of international artists. Next show in may and june 2008 will show the recent work of Diana Bloomfield one of our fellow list members.

We sincerely hope to be able to show finnish alternative work which at this time is not well documented down here.

With  my best greetings,

Roger

Hello everyone,
and greetings from chilly Finland! I've been waiting for the European alt teachers to chime in here... surely there must be alt teaching in Europe too?

I myself teach at a small, provincial art school (part of a university of applied sciences), and we have a small study of alt processes going on. Two of us (teachers) also teach a class of alternative processes in photography and printmaking. But it's nothing like extensive; just a few basic techniques.

We too would like to hear about alt teaching programs & facilities around the world, and especially in Europe. Also, can anyone advise where one could view historical and alt prints live (best collections, museums in Europe, US...)

best regards
Jalo
