There is also Charlotte Cotton's The Photograph as Contemporary Art.
Not necessarily a history book, but it does cover the very current
contemporary photo world (Gursky, Crewdson, Dijkstra, Billingham,
Goldin, Tillmans, etc) so it may be a good book to include. It's also
inexpensive compared to most textbooks at $18.95 msrp and currently
$12.89 at Amazon.
