Book - Looking At Photographs - A Guide To Technical Terms - Gordon Baldwin
I just purchased this excellent little book (88 Pages). It was prepared for the J. Paul Getty Museum in association with the British Museum Press. “The purpose of the book is to provide a series of concise explanations of the terms most frequently used by curators, collectors and historians to deal with the phenomenon called photography”
Mr. James Crump, curator of photography at the Cincinnati Art Museum told me about the book.
The book is very good. It provides short descriptions of the photographic processes (cyanotype, gum, salt, silver, etc) and also shows a few print examples. Vey easy to read and understand. I recommend it for your library.
Cost for the paper back version is only a little over $10.00
