[alt-photo] digital negatives for oil prints

Hello all:

I just received the Faust etching ink  that was recommended for oil 
printing.   My initial work with oil prints was from large format 
pinhole camera negatives and used "homemade" ink - (oil paint, varnish 
and magnesium carbonate)  I want to work from digital negatives. - I've 
done very little with digital negatives.

Any hints for oil print digital negatives - I am planning on using GIMP 
to produce the negs.
