[alt-photo] Epson 2400 ink density problems

Hi list,

At home I use a 1290 for digi negs with no problem. At work I have an Epson
2400. I've printed out my calibration chart which is all the two colour
permutations from 0 to 250 in increments of 10 on the Epson 2400 and can't
get anywhere near the ink density needed to block UV. I've increased the
colour density to +15 in the driver as Mark mentioned here
http://www.usask.ca/lists/alt-photo-process/2005/jul05/0470.htm but that
makes little difference. Is adding the third colour a viable option creating
some neutral density? Is this a know issue with these Epson ink sets? As I
work for a charity, costs need to be kept to a minimum so I can't use
Pictorico or install third party drivers. I'm initially testing for Herschel
formula cyanotype with the aim of adding gum for tricolour images.

Thanks,

John.
