As an aside, but relevant to what Loris and Chris are saying, Ed Carey at Gallery 291 tries as much as he can to show Alt Prints and he does a great job of it.  That doesn't mean that he never shows some inkjet prints now and then.  He also has a great series of lectures on the history of photography, alternative processes, and even demonstrations on processes that he offers to his patrons.  I think it is a great idea and he should be commended for trying to educate the public.

I think it's not the process(es) that makes us get into the gallery. OTOH,  if you have ever been rejected by gallery because you work with any of the alt. processes - or, let's say because you don't work with any "mainstream"(!) method - that's bad news indeed... I think to reserve a photography gallery exclusively to alt. processes is a kind of bad decision perhaps - in terms of business, that is. (Not that I wouldn't like to have many of them!) OTOH, from a gallery's perspective, being able to present something "different" would be nice, definitely. Therefore, we don't need alt-friendly galleries really, we need non-alt-opposing galleries...
