But if you use less than the optimum amount of metal salts presumably the blacks will just be weaker.

Use ammonium (or lithium) based print out processes (which also eliminate
the ill defined FO, by replacing it with AFO) if you're afraid of
solarization; they don't exhibit this phenomenon...

I was to mention this to Christina; she'll have to watch for solarization in
case of perfectly matching Fe and noble metal.
But that's something easy to take under control, right?
(1.) Use adequate amnt. of solution per coating area
(2.) Do not overexpose
(3.) Add a little Pt (1:5)
