Paul,

I have used the dark amber DS gum, but my last batch (bought, I dunno, 
maybe a year ago?) had some fine sediment in the bottom of the bottle. I 
shook the bottle each time before I poured some off (probably the 
opposite of what I should have done!), and by the time I had reached the 
bottom third of the bottle, the sediment was causing problems. It was 
actually producing tiny visible dark specks in my prints! I stopped 
using it after that. Maybe I just got a bad couple of bottles (I bought 
2 of the pint size, as I recall).

I tried filtering it with coffee filters but that was very slo-o-o-ow. 
And in the end didn't seem worth it.

Maybe I just got a bad batch. The color itself wasn't a problem, or even 
noticeable, really -- but the sediment definitely was.
