OK, now I see. Thanks for the explanation, Chris, and thanks again, 
Richard, for the additional information.
I don't mind the $25 vs $14 but I really don't want to waste a large 
part of the gallon if it must all be mixed at once. It's probably not 
something I'll do consistently but once in a while I get a "bug" to play 
around with something like tintypes. Is it practical to weigh out a 
fraction (say one-half or one-third) of each component and just mix a 
partial batch?
You are brave (and yes, maybe nuts, too) to do this with a class of 18, 
Chris. Yikes. Sounds intense, but fun! Again, thanks for sharing.
