Trevor, 

as your sizing is for gum printing, you have also some dichromate at hand. 
Hence, you have a fourth solution: size with gelatin, then sensitize the 
gelatin with dichromate (or mix the gelatin with dichromate beforehand, but 
I think that sensitizing is easier and safer) and expose to the light, then 
wash thoroughly and dry. If there is staining, give a few minutes bath of 
bisulfite, then wash again.
