Very sad news indeed.

While I don't know her personally, I have met her on the list since probably
the first she joined the list. She will be missed.

I've just read this on apug and am very saddened...

Katharine Thayer, the Oregon gum printer and large format photographer,
passed away this past weekend. A memorial service is being planned for
