Thanks, Johnny. That's good to know. Based on shipping costs, though, 25 sheets from Talas (22x30) would cost me a total of $172.98 So while 25 sheets from Freestyle is less expensive, their standard ground shipping cost (to me) is double that from Talas, which bring's Freestyle's total to about $170, so basically $3-4 cheaper. And since Talas doesn't use peanuts in their packing (a pain to dispose of and bad for the environment, to boot), I'll just stick with Talas. Not having to deal with those god-awful peanuts is worth paying the extra $3 or so. :)

I think they're out in Seattle(?), and I am on the East Coast, but good grief-- we are located in the same country. I've had stuff delivered to me from overseas that took less time. I have no idea what's up with them, but from order placement to actual shipment and delivery seems to take forever and a day. I am in the capitol city here, after all (not isolated out in some remote area). ;)

There are some papers that are pretty darn foolproof with processes like argyrotype and cyanotype--Weston, Platine, Crane's Cover, Cot320, for instance. Some others are very unsuitable without going to the next step of citric acid in the mix, tween, oxalic acid soak of the paper, etc., not always the best to do when first teaching processes to students (one more step).

My students had a BUST assignment with argyrotype even with suitable papers, and custom curves a la PDN. I was beginning to fear for this class's intelligence until finally a former student who is doing the uranotype found his tonal palette was all over the place too and being that he works in Checkout and runs the equipment we got it figured out. So uninstalling the Apple driver and reinstalling the 3800 driver downloaded from Epson did the trick. Those of you with Apple auto updates--if you all of a sudden have issues, this could be the problem. It's a sneaky little bugger. Those of you using the QTR driver, I suppose this wouldn't be an issue.
