DEAR LORIS,
Please note the following provisos which may affect the results:
1) I use either COT 320 or Crane's Platinotype because I put some in
inventory before it was discontinued.
2) I use a NuArc 26-1KS plate burner.
3) Anything I have forgotten to tell you and will fill in later! ;-))
I started my pt/pd printing using sodium citrate because it was
readily available here in Barbados. Even heating it up to 38 C I found that
it produced relatively neutral prints (slightly warm) on either paper.
As soon as I switched to Pot Ox dev, I found my prints MUCH warmer,
especially at 38 C. Further, I found the coated paper required less
exposure to produce similar densities, i. e. it was "faster".
I am home with a serious flu today so I suspect that I have
forgotten other important things but this should get the thread started.
CHEERS!
BOB

Subject: [alt-photo] Anyone using sodium citrate as DOP pt/pd developer?
Hi all,
Is there anyone using sodium citrate as DOP pt/pd developer? If yes, at what
strenght?
How different is sodium citrate compared to say... potassium oxalate? (In
terms of hue, contrast, grain ect...)
TIA,
Loris.
