I've always preferred the term "historical processes".  Amongst
ourselves alt works fine too I suppose but in the earlier discussion
mentioned in the archives, I held back from commenting.

As far as finding a general consensus of one term that will fit all,
it may come down to what rolls off the tongue most easily, and/or
translates best in multiple languages. Processus historiques sounds
pretty cool to me.
