The news of Davidjohn Lotto's passing came as a surprise to me because his
accomplishment seems to be of a very high order, yet I, in my ignorance -
aren't we ignorant so often of what goes on right next to us? - had never
heard of him.  Clearly, a great loss.  I will do what I can to keep his
name and work alive.
