Uraninite mineral specimens are available. A last resort could be the 
dissolution of uraninite in nitric acid. A test for Uraninite is done 
by placing a drop of nitric acid on the specimen  leaving a bright 
green yellow deposit of uranyl nitrate. I suspect other impurities 
may come along for the ride unless you can get some pretty good 
crystals,even then!. You would have to investigate the risks of any 
byproducts from this reaction. Not for me!
