Concerning different bulbs, some of you might remember about a month ago I
reported on increased speed and contrast with Pt/Pd using Phillips TLK Super
Actinic bulbs compared to BL bulbs. The Super Actinics have a very narrow
spectral output at 420nm; almost all of the energy is there. Given others'
reports on the cool whites proving favorable to BL with other non-silver
sensitizers (carbon, cyanotype, etc) it seems that ultraviolet light per se
is not the best source for many non-silver processes. We seem to be dipping
into the visible blue section quite often here. These reports are all
intriguing and further confirm the need to match light source to process.
