I seem to remember that when I used Terry's densitometer on platinum prints
the values it gave for maximum density were always well below those I would
expect from a good silver print - or at least a good glossy silver print.

As Ron Silvers has made clear one can work within very limited tonalities
and produce exquisite prints - whether in platinum, silver, carbon etc.
