Re: new to list; dye transfer questions

Hello everyone.....

I wanted to thank all who answered my initial inquiry
about dye transfer, and materials availability. The info
provided was very useful.
I just got off the phone with Kodak, and it's true, they
are sending me (according to the Rep at Kodak) the entire
dye formulary for FREE. I do not know if this includes the
emulsion formula for the matrix material, but I was encouraged
to call back with any further questions I may have. The rep
at Kodak could not initially find the formula for the matrix
film emulsion, but would send me all info that he had.
I was also given Dr. Jay Patterson's address in Houston for
further consultations.

My question to all list recipients is:

Is there an alternative emulsion that could literally be
made or a fast-and-sensitive enough emulsion commercially
available that can be coated on a plastic carrier, exposed,
processed and used much like the original material?

Or, some other photographic product that could be used for
this purpose?

Just a thought. Thanks again for all your help.
