I think that if you use a screen with a diazo system, you'd better be ready
to go four-color just to get either color or a black and white prints.
You'll never get enough density out of one color.

Many have experimented with continuous tone negs with Ultrastable materials
but I have yet to see or even hear of anything decent and controllable out
of this.

Of course, I'd love to see someone prove me wrong.

I know of people who have experimented producing monochrome prints with
Ultrastable 4-color materials. The results were almost half as good as
conventional carbon transfer...

Evercolor also offered for a time, monochrome four-color carbons with their
process. It may still be available. I have a lot of excellent color
specimens from their lab, but nothing in monochrome.
