'Tea toning' of paper is still done by paper restorers and considered to be a
rather stable way of giving the paper the chamois tone. I sometimes mix it with
coffee to get a less greenish brown. (no milk ;-)) Kremer probably is one of the
best experts on pigments, I would rely on his judgements. If you could find out
the rate on the British Wool Standard those dyes reach, you'd know more: above 7
is quite good, 8 is the best value to get.
