Here's my method for mutiple printing in gum. I mount each negative on a
sheet of clear acetate which is larger than the negative. The acetate sheet
is punched along with the paper. I use 1/4 inch registration pins and an
ordinary paper punch to make the registration holes. The acetate sheets can
be obtained in bulk from graphic suppliers and are very inexpensive (10 cents
or less a sheet depending on the size). This method eliminates the problem of
what to do when the first printing leaves a light image and the second (or
subsequent )coating is much darker and obscures the original image.

This method is also useful with multiple negatives. It is very easy to align
the multiple negatives on a light box attaching each to their acetate sheet.
You don't even have to think about registration once the negatives are
attached to the acetate .
