cyanotype/van dyke

I have achieved a modicum of success coating cyanotype, printing, and
registering for Van Dyke overprinting. The reaction between the two is unstable
as the ferricyanide of the cyanotype oxidizes the silver salt of the brown
print. However, the results are strikingly beautiful. I dilute the cyanotype
and the van dyke heavily coated with reduced exposure. The results are clearly
not archival and the resultant image evolves in a dynamic process which lasts
for months, and fades off like the roses in my garden. Using palladium or
platinum instead of Van Dyke is more stable but lacks the ethetic pleasure. I am
looking for suggestions for stabilizing the process if anyone else has been
involved with this combination of processes. Joachim.
