And I know someone who makes 4X6' carbros. Making carbon tissue in this
size does pose some special problems but the basic mechanics of the
process are the same. When making really large sheets of tissue the
gelatin will tend to set faster than your ability to spready the
coating evenely, so some special working procedures have to be
followed, which include either using a lower % solution of gelatin,
coating in a warmer room or coating with the gelatin solution at a
higher temperture, or keeping the coating surface very warm until
the solution is spread evenely, then rapidly cooling it. Using one
or more of these techniques allow me to get good coatings in
sizes up to about 20X24".
