I have just recieved a request from someone on the list who is planning to
visit London to list what photographic exhibitions are on in London at
present.

Information is for everyone! The following is absolutely 100% NOT
comprehensive, but is what I could think of off the top of my head, so I
make no apologies. Feel free to add your thoughts, everyone! I'll put more
on as and when it occurs to me.

There are some things well worth seeing in London at present, though I
doubt that any of them will have quite the impact on you that the Sudek
show in New York had on me!!!!

The following are in no particular order of preference:

- At the Barbican Art Gallery there is a large retrospective of the work
of Eve Arnold (until August 18th).

- At Hamilton's Gallery there is an exhibition of vintage prints of Paris
including Brassai, Willy Ronis, Bohm, Erwitt, Horvatt, etc, etc - some fine
work here which I had not seen before.

- I'm not sure exactly what's on at the Photographer's Gallery at present,
but they usually have some interesting work, and of course the print room
contains some gems.

- Whatever else you do, try to set aside time to visit the print room at
the Victoria & Albert Museum. If you have not already been there, I should
explain that they have a large collection, and you can all up whichever
boxes of prints from the list and just sit (with white gloves) and lose
yourself totally in some of the finest images...... It really is worth a
few hours/days/years! Beware, though: I don't think the print room is open
on Saturdays.

Hope that this is enough for the present - if I get more info I'll let you know.
