Well, afterall, perhaps it is a good thing that my post went to the
whole list (since it has generated some discussion). I agree with Ron that it is
hard to tell gender from a photo, though easy to read gender into a photo (once
you know the gender). But, getting back to the list topic, alternative
processes have often be referred to as being of more interest to women than men
by people I have read and talked to. One of the reasonings is that it is like
cooking and that some of the processes produce nice pastel colors. I have never
had any statistics to refute or support this. I know only a few alt pro.
photographers besides myself (who is female). But, after subscribing to this
list, I would say that I have encountered more men than women. So this
assumption seems to be wrong.
