ADMINISTRIVIA: need your input

Hi all,
Within the next few weeks, all going well, I should have a web page for
the list up and running which will allow people to view the archives by
thread, subject, author, and date. This should make it easier to get the
information you want from the archives. (Unfortunately, you won't be
able to search the content of the messages, but that is a limitation of
the software I'll be using.)

What I would like to know at this stage, is how people would like the
archives arranged. My preferred option at the moment is to have a
separate entry for each month of each year. This will keep the length of
the web pages down.

The alternative is to arrange it by year, and have very very long web
pages, but with less likelihood of splitting a thread across pages.

Of course, if you find a thread you're interested in, and I do arrange
it by month, you can always go to the next month and check if it is
continued.

I can also have an extra level in the hierarchy (split by year), and
then get you to select month.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. It would probably be
best to let me know via private email (mailto:stevea@sedal.usyd.edu.au)
rather than annoy the whole list.
