Call David Aldera at New York Central Art Supply, 212/473-7705, as he is
one of the paper mavens of the world & a living doll to boot. Better yet
of course is to go there, 62 3rd Avenue, about 12th Street, and climb up
one flight to the paper department, as close as NYC comes, perhaps, to the
old-world paper experience. NY Central also carries the great Isabey
spotting brushes I described in February, plus all kinds of general &
special artists goodies, from Bregman register pins to gum stip. On the
way back to subway or crosstown bus, if you can manage another package,
stop at the Village Cheese store one block south on 3rd Ave, for home made
smoked mozarella, walnut raisin bread -- oh I can't go on!
