When I once wanted to flatten a platinum print in a heat mounting press I
noticed a distinct yellow-brown-grey discoloration of the image. I thought this
was due to improper clearing or washing the print and 'recommended' the hot iron
as a test for processing quality to my students.

Was I wrong, i. e. is there s. th. else going on (except accelerated paper
deterioration through the platinum catalizer probably...)?
